Afterglow

We live in the same afterglow of Jesus that the disciples did. Sometimes we are just like them with our disbelife and our failure to understand what is going on. Sometimes we are not convinced that Jesus is back. But we are called to follow Jesus and share the exciting news that he is alive. Tonight, Rachael Stelzer gave us some practical tips on how to do this: just like Jesus.

Easter Live

Easter at Our Saviour has always been quite dramatic and tonight was no different. From bible readings to sacred dances to the whip cracks in the foyer, we were invited to remember Jesus death and resurrection in a very real way. Christ has risen, he is risen indeed!

Jono Pukalas spoke about how things were not what was expected. Apologies for not having a recording up or a better blurb, the tech guy and the content writer were in the kitchen all night making dinner. Will try to have something up asap.

Palm Sunday

Jesus cursing the fig tree is an often overlooked story at Easter. It's something that we sometimes stumble over or quickly rush past to something we understand. Pastor Matt linked everything together tonight in a new look at what Jesus was really doing when he went to the cross. Jesus wasnt not just fixing something that was broken, or cleaning the mess, but rather wiping the slate clean and restarting. No longer is the temple a place we have to go, a place that can be filled with money sellers and hypocritical people. Now, Jesus is the temple. He is the one who makes the relationship with God possible. The doors are reopened, and Jesus is the way.

His Love

Tonight we heard stories from three different people on what God's love is to them.

Lauren Krenske shared a story from her childhood related to how she views God's love as steadfast, eternal and always there.(Psalm 139:7-12)

Lachlan Walker spoke about how God has much better plans for us than we do ourselves, and explained his view on what people really mean when they say "God spoke to me," or "I heard this from God" and what that looks like for him. (Ephesians 1:11,12)

Deb shared her personal struggles over the last few years where God's love didn't appear to be there at all. Where is God's love in all of that? (Ephesians 2:4-10)
